New Member Welcome Page
- If you are just starting with your flight training, the club student guide will have resource links and suggestions on what you might need.
- If you are joining as a student or a new member pilot, the club faq and club logistics will have some useful information.
- For licensed pilots, especially read the club check-out procedures. Please contact chief pilot Ben (708-473-4566) or another flight instructor from our club directory to arrange for check-out flights in each club aircraft. Left seat new member check-outs are separate from doing right seat instructor check-outs. Please be respectful of the instructors time and be punctual for your scheduled meeting and flight reservation.
- For student pilots, or those seeking advanced ratings, or pilots out of currency, please contact chief pilot Ben (708-473-4566) to match up with a club affiliated flight instructor to meet your availability and training needs. Text messaging is preferred over voice mail if Ben is unable to take your call. If you already have your own preferred flight instructor, that is fine, if your CFI is not already affiliated with IFC, have them contact Ben for club approval.
- Follow dpa instructions to obtain your security access badge. Use the club's preauthorized form. Request both vehicle and pedestrian gate access as you wish for the Echo 6 hangars and the North Ramp tiedowns. If you already have a dpa badge, you may wish to have them update your permissions specific to the club access gates. See club logistics on tips for filling out the dpa photo badge tenant access application form. Contact DPA at 630-208-6196 or badging@dupageairport.gov to schedule a badging appointment.
- If you need an faa medical exam, use the examiner search tool.
- As part of the club application process, it is expected you've already familiarized yourself with club bylaws and club operating procedures and winter operations.
- Print copies of club specific checklists and use them for every flight, pre-flight safety, post-flight hangar, and post-flight ramp.
- Plan to review and ask questions about operating procedures and club checklists during your aircraft check-out process.
- Please sign and return the ifc release waiver form to the membership chairperson.
- Please register for an online user scheduling account. Booking privileges will be approved shortly after your successful registration and completion of ifc waiver form.
- Optionally join respective google groups for each club plane to be included in collaborative discussions and sharing of aircraft status.
- Member account statements are available online in the form of a monthly spreadsheet and can be accessed at any time. The club treasurer will periodically send the link via email as a reminder to make payments on your current balance due. Remittance to the club can be made via bank bill pay, personal check, or any free money transfer app. We can also accept credit cards, but the merchant fees will be passed along to the club member. If you are not receiving the club billing notices (perhaps bulk email is blocked or mass mailing is treated as spam), reach out to the club treasurer for alternative notification methods.
